Tan-Delta measurement
The Tan-Delta measurement effectively determines the condition of the insulation of electrical equipment and is used in particular for medium and high voltage equipment. It determines the ratio of active to reactive power, which indicates how large the electrical losses are in the equipment. With the help of this quantity, conclusions can be drawn with regard to both the aging of a piece of equipment and its reliability.
