Our apprenticeship careers

You are interested in large machines and systems and like to create something with your own hands. Do you want to make a difference and start your career in a company that deals with promising topics related to the energy transition? At a company that has been the world market leader in the field of high voltage for years and that appreciates your commitment from the very beginning and rewards you accordingly? Requirements:

Qualified high school diploma or higher, technical interest and manual dexterity. You can do physically demanding work while being careful and focused.

Length of apprenticeship:

The apprenticeship lasts 3.5 years.

Where you'll work during your apprenticeship:

During your training, you will learn manufacturing techniques such as turning, milling and filing at the training center and deal with the care, maintenance and servicing of machines. You will deepen your knowledge in our winding production area. Here, wire is wound into coils. This is not done by hand but using state-of-the-art machines.  You will learn how to program, set and readjust these machines.

Vocational school:

The vocational training is held as blocks of lessons.

Areas of placement after your apprenticeship:

Possible takeover departments are the winding department and transformer construction.

Continuing education opportunities after your apprenticeship:

After your apprenticeship, you have the opportunity to train as a technician (m/f/d), technical specialist (m/f/d) or technical business administrator (m/f/d) at any time. We'll support you!

During your apprenticeship, you'll get to know departments such as incoming goods, incoming goods inspection, warehousing and warehouse management, transport, export, purchasing, and material planning.

Vocational school:

The vocational training is held as blocks of lessons.

Areas of placement after your apprenticeship:

Following your apprenticeship, you can work in our warehouse area.

Continuing education opportunities after your apprenticeship:

After your apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to complete training as a business administrator or business economist at any time. We'll support you!

During your apprenticeship, you will work in departments such as purchasing, warehouse area, marketing and human resources.

Vocational school:

The vocational training is held as blocks of lessons.

Areas of placement after your apprenticeship:

As a specialist in your field, you could be placed in departments such as export, purchasing, order processing and human resources, or as an assistant in various areas.

Continuing education opportunities after your apprenticeship:

After your apprenticeship, you'll have the opportunity to complete training as a business administrator or business economist at any time. We'll support you!

Integrated Degree Program

You want to be financially independent, but still want to study? Is a practical education also important to you?  Would you prefer a mix of technically sound studies and practical relevance?  Do you want to make a difference and start your career in a company that deals with promising topics related to the energy transition? Requirements

(Sciences) High school diploma, manual skills, good performance in mathematics and physics and interest in scientific problems

Length of the Integrated Degree Program:

The cooperative engineering education lasts a total of 5 years (after 2.5 years IHK skilled worker degree, after 5 years diploma)

Where you'll work during your education:

During your education, you will go through the basic courses in the training center and get to know other departments, such as maintenance, assembly, test field, test engineering, development, sales.

Hochschule Zittau/Görlitz

Possible takeover areas are development, technical service or test field.

Requirements:

  • You have successfully completed your secondary school certificate / university entrance qualification ("Abitur").

  • You find business-related contexts exciting and enjoy contributing to projects.

  • You are flexible and willing to travel.

Length of the integrated degree program:

The integrated degree program lasts 4.5 years.

Where you'll work during your apprenticeship:

During your integrated studies, you will work in departments such as human resources, export, purchasing, controlling, and sales.

Place of study:

You will learn your theoretical skills at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (East Bavarian Technical Institute of Regensburg), while the apprenticeship will primarily take place at our location in Dresden.

Course of apprenticeship       

  • The integrated degree program includes a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration alongside an apprenticeship to become an Industrial Management Assistant (with IHK certification)

  • During the first year of apprenticeship, you will rotate through our various departments including finance, sales, order processing, purchasing, after sales and human resources, allowing you to become more familiar with HIGHVOLT in Dresden.

  • You will also get to know various departments at our parent company in Regensburg for a few weeks.

  • Starting from the second year of your apprenticeship, your university studies at OTH Regensburg will begin in October, with a standard duration of 3.5 years or 7 semesters. In the fourth semester, a practical semester is planned, which you can complete as an exchange semester at one of our subcompanies if you are interested. You will conclude the 7th semester with a bachelor's thesis, preferably in finance/controlling.

  • You will take the IHK final exam for Industrial Management Assistant during the 5th semester. We also offer specialized exam preparation courses for this purpose.

  • Of course, we will take care of your accommodations in Regensburg and cover the costs for it.

Areas of placement after your apprenticeship:

Possible departments where you could be placed include purchasing, financial controlling, sales, and human resources, among others.

There is a wide range of apprenticeships available after school. Are you unsure which apprenticeship is the right one for you? Then take advantage of the opportunity to do an internship for at least one week for career orientation. Take a look behind the scenes of your dream job for over a week. You will be given your own tasks, qualified supervisors and have a direct line to other trainees. You will also find out what training at HIGHVOLT is like and what you can learn with us.
