HIGHVOLT opens new training center and welcomes new class of apprentices

HIGHVOLT continues to invest in the skilled professionals of tomorrow. With a new training center and a newly established training structure, we are entering a new phase of talent development. At the start of the new training year on August 17, nine apprentices and cooperative education students were welcomed to our Dresden site.

The global demand for solutions to expand and modernize energy infrastructure continues to grow. As a result, the need for qualified professionals is increasing as well. To provide even more targeted training and development opportunities for young talent, HIGHVOLT has established its own dedicated training center.

For the first time, HIGHVOLT now has a full-time lead trainer. In this role, Stefan Sassen will oversee the entire training program and support both apprentices and cooperative education students throughout their educational journey.

„HIGHVOLT continues to grow significantly. We have now reached a point where we can train our own future specialists. Our goal is to instill the HIGHVOLT DNA from day one and offer long-term career opportunities. I am delighted to welcome our first class this week and wish them every success“

Settling In During the First Week and Building Long-Term Perspectives

During their first days, the new trainees got to know the company, its various departments, and many of the people they will be working with. The onboarding program included a meeting with Managing Director Markus John and the Works Council, safety training sessions, the distribution of work equipment, and several team-building activities.

From the very beginning, the apprentices were actively involved. Together, they helped set up the new training center and workshop, contributing directly to the environment where much of their professional development will take place in the future.

The training center is designed to become far more than a traditional apprenticeship facility. Plans include hands-on training programs, workshops, courses, and seminars specifically tailored to the needs of the power engineering industry. In addition, the center will also support continuing education opportunities for HIGHVOLT's approximately 500 employees.

Over the coming weeks, the focus will be on developing the new class into a strong team. Following an intensive onboarding phase, the apprentices will begin manufacturing their first projects and become more familiar with their respective departments.

With its new training center, HIGHVOLT is creating the foundation for the sustainable development of future skilled professionals while offering young people long-term growth opportunities in one of the key industries driving the energy transition.
