HIGHVOLT supports Dresden’s Cultural Summer
Once again this year, HIGHVOLT is supporting key cultural events in Dresden. With the Palais Summer and the Film Nights on the Banks of the Elbe, we are supporting two events that define the city’s summer and make it accessible to many people.
Culture for everyone in the heart of Dresden
The Palais Summer stands, like few other events, for free access to art and culture. Over the course of several weeks, the city center transforms into an open-air stage featuring concerts, dance, readings, and social gatherings. Admission is deliberately free and aimed at a broad audience.
The fact that such an event is possible year after year is anything but a given. Among this year’s highlights are the diverse “country evenings” in the “Palais.Horizonte,” grand summer nights with live music and dance, and numerous concerts by local and international artists against the backdrop of the Frauenkirche.
It is therefore all the more gratifying to support this initiative again in 2026. The Palais Summer demonstrates just how vibrant and unifying culture can be in public spaces—and how much personal dedication goes into making it happen. HIGHVOLT is looking forward to its two evening events on July 9 (HIGHVOLT Palais.Horizonte | Czech Night) and July 17 (Tango Summer Night) and would like to thank the entire Palais Summer team for their wonderful collaboration.

Film Nights on the Banks of the Elbe: A staple of Dresden’s summer skyline
At the same time, the Film Nights on the Banks of the Elbe have long been a fixture on the city’s event calendar. Set against the historic backdrop of Dresden’s Old Town, one of Germany’s largest open-air cinema and concert events takes place every summer, featuring a diverse program and attracting several hundred thousand visitors. The program features a wide range of current movies, classics, and live concerts by national and international artists. The combination of film, music, and a unique setting has made the Filmnächte a major attraction far beyond the city for years.
The format is also constantly evolving from a technical standpoint. Modern projection technology ensures significantly improved image quality and an even more immersive open-air cinema experience against the backdrop of the Dresden skyline. Especially in times of growing challenges for large-scale events, this continuity cannot be taken for granted. This makes it all the more important to strengthen established formats and secure their future. We thank the organizers of the Filmnächte for making this special event possible year after year.
