Recap of Fab 13
We had a super weekend last week with Fabulous 13.  We housed 196 people from out of town and with the other groups that joined us; we had over 250 in attendance throughout the day.  We had over 700 in worship Sunday and burned through a lot of food.   We had 19 service projects on Saturday with over 50 people from our on congregation helping out.  I have heard great things from everyone who participated.  We did have a few teens did complain about washing the feet of the homeless, but I am sure they will get over the trauma.  Robert Johnson worked hard in the kitchen over weekend.  He had a small group of people that cooked and cleaned throughout the weekend.  It is not easy preparing 5 meals throughout the weekend and feeding the masses.  He did an excellent job!  Jay and Jack Spray moved a ton of tables and chairs around the building setting up for different activities and meals.  It was a bit insane how much stuff had to be moved around on a constant basis.  Kelli Spray directed drama, and they did their usual outstanding job on Sunday morning.  Everyone always seems to come together when they are standing up on a stage.  Fabulous 13 is not always about the cool entertainment, or the great teaching and preaching; although, all our teachers and speaker (Josh Stephens) did an excellent job, it is also about people coming together and working side by side in a common goal.  Fabulous 13 would not have taken place if it were not for all the volunteers.  All weekend long, the church building was crawling with workers.  To me that is the biggest success is seeing so many people step up and help.   I could not have done any of this without you guys.  Thanks for your willingness to serve!  God Bless.

Sweetheart Banquet
Our annual sweetheart banquet is this coming Saturday from 11-1 p.m.  I am asking all the teens to help serve food for this special activity.  It does not take a lot of time, you will need to be here at 10:30 a.m. and you will be through by 1 p.m.  We will be having turkey and ham and a variety of foods for everyone.  It is a simple activity with a large impact on our “young-at-heart” group.   Today we will be passing around a list to have teens sign up.  I am also looking for some teens to help with food preparation.  Talk with your parents and see if you can help.  I need about 6 Jell-O salads, 6 large desserts, 6 medium pans of dressing, and about 100 rolls.  If you can help with some of the
food, I would appreciate it!  Please sign up today to serve food; it is actually a lot of fun.

Boys Lock-in
We will be having a boys lock-in on Friday, February 17.  We will start at 5 p.m. and conclude Saturday morning after breakfast.  We will probably be up till 3 a.m. so don’t expect a lot of sleep.   I am asking several men to speak at the lock-in on various topics mainly about the three L’s, love, lust and leadership.   Since it will be a bunch of guys we will be playing hard in the gym and then taking breaks in-between to hear our special speakers.  I would encourage you to bring some sort of Nerf weapon.  Bring more than one if you have one.   We will start registration around 5 p.m., have some ice breakers, food, and hit it hard for the rest of the evening.  So if you are a guy, then plan on coming to the boys lock-in at the gym.  Please bring toiletries, a sleeping bag, and a sleeping pad if you like.   The vans will be gone on the college retreat, so I will have no way of picking you up or taking you home, so please check with your parents about transportation.

Parents Page
A big thank you to those who helped with Fabulous 1, especially those who housed some teens in your home.  We housed 196 teens and we had a large number help with the service projects.  It was a great weekend and I hope your son or daughter was able to participate.  I would also like to thank those who helped in the kitchen.  It was a mad house, especially Saturday morning as all the service project people showed up to claim their food.  That is something we are going to have to fix next year.  Phillip Beck donated another 100 pizza’s to Fabulous 13 again for the 12th year in a row.  If you see him, please thank him for his generous donation, and buy your next pizza from dominos.  We are not slowing down since Fabulous 13 is over; in fact this coming weekend we are having our annual Sweetheart banquet for the young at heart.  I need parents to bring food for this upcoming weekend.  I need Jell-O salads, desserts, rolls and dressing.  If you can help out with either one of those, please do so by signing up in the high school room.  Also, if you can help on Saturday morning with dishing up the food to the teens, then please be here at 10:30 a.m.   It is a simple banquet but a lot of fun.  We have also asked our drama to do some of their skits from Fabulous 13 at that time, so it should be great!  February is in full swing, it should be a great month!  God Bless,
David
