High School Banquet
The high school will be meeting for their end of the year banquet at Zeffiro New York Pizzeria at 901 E. University Ave on Wednesday December 12 from 6-8 p.m.  We will be meeting upstairs to eat and exchange gifts for secret Santa.  By the way, if you did not participate with the secret Santa, or you missed it, you will still receive a gift.  We will also have a slide show of the year and give out some silly awards to our seniors and some of our sophomores.   The slide show This may have to be done at the high school room if I can’t get the video   It is always a lot of fun and the food is great.  If you are not able to make the party, please drop off your gift at the building before hand so we can pass it out.  It is always a great activity.

Middle School Class
The middle school will have their last class of the semester this Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. We will finish up our discussion of “Does God Exist” and then talk about the upcoming spring semester and some possible changes in the Tuesday night bible study.  Most people know we have had some discipline problems in class on Tuesday, mainly because I am not good at classroom management.  I have asked parents to be present, but that has not been consistent.  I do appreciate the parents that have been coming, it has been a great help.  There is a possibility that the van will no longer be running to pick up teens for the middle school class.  I think we can arrange for transportation through other families to pick people up to bring them to class.  We used to never run the van to pick up the middle school but did so out of necessity.  However, I believe we are at a time that it may not be necessary anymore.  Running the van takes me 3 hours all together which is okay with me, and helps me get to know the students better, but I would love to have that time back.   The van will continue to run for the high school on Wednesday nights.   The decision has not been made, but I am floating that out there, so you can be aware of it and give me some feedback.  Of course, for special events and activities outside of class, we will be running the van.
Christmas Caroling
Next Sunday we are going Christmas caroling around the city, please be at the building by 4:30 p.m. we will leave at 4:45 p.m. to start our route Christmas caroling.  Maps will be available if you are planning on driving.  We are singing at Sagecrest Nursing Center at 5 p.m. then Casa Del Sol (Genesis) at 5:30, then splitting up to sing at a couple of homes and then going to Heritage Nursing Home at 6 p.m.  We should all be at the Johnsons around 6:20 p.m.  We will have a meal and then sings some more song as we end up the semester.

Movie Night/Christmas Stockings
The last day of school is December 19, you will have half a day.  We are washing the feet of the homeless on that day from 2-4 p.m. at St. Luke’s Health Clinic and passing out Christmas stockings.  I could use about 8 people helping with the foot washing, it is very taxing with about 40 people expected.  Then we are planning on going to the movies around 6 p.m. to watch “Mortal Engines” which is rated PG13.  It is the same producer as Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit, so I am excited about this movie, but know nothing about it.  Both middle school and high school are invited along with their parents.  I am not sure about the content, I have just seen trailers, but will let you know as it gets closer.  I will be shooting for the mall theater because it is usually cheaper there.   Everyone is on their on for ticket info and I am not sure about the van running we will play that by ear depending on the times.

Parents page
Just a note to read the article about Middle school, I am thinking about not running the van on Tuesday nights anymore except to take people home.  I am trying to coordinate the parent to pick up the teens and bring them.  Already, most of the parents are bringing the teens to class.  I am only picking up at 5 different stops right now and if I can get them brought to the building that would cut back on my driving time.  I think I can get them home without any problems if they could just get a ride here.   Presently I can’t eat supper on Tuesday because of driving time, so that would help, and give me time for one on ones after school on Tuesday for some teens.    Thanks for your support, especially parents that have been helping on Wednesday nights.  God Bless, David
