Youth Weekly Newsletter
We are leaving today after 1st service to travel to Juntos for a week of working with children from the international district in Albuquerque.  This is our fourth year to help with Juntos.  This program is run by the navigators which is a para church organization.  Para church organizations are programs that are overseen by a group that is not actually associated with a certain church.  So, this is a program that runs during the school year and meets on Monday evening for teaching and activities for ages 4 years to 8th grade.  My son Josh and his wife have been working with this program since they moved to Albuquerque over 6 years ago.  We help supplement the workers, provide transportation, and often do some teaching.  Please keep us in your prayers and we help this week in Albuquerque.  We should return Friday evening to repack the trailer and get ready for Encounter

We leave for Encounter NEXT Sunday, please be here at the building at 6 a.m.  so, we can load and depart before 7 a.m.  You need to have all your paper work in order, this includes a copy of your medical card and a wallet size photo.  It would be nice if you did all of that before you come up Sunday morning June 10.  This form along with a list of what to bring is available at the connection central desk in the worship center.  You will need money for 2 meals, one on the way up and one on the way back.  There is a $20 room key deposit which you get back at the end of the week, so you can use that to eat on the way home.  We will be taking 2 vehicles so there should be plenty of room for everyone, just don’t over pack please.   We will return on Saturday, June 16 around 3:30 p.m.

A message from our Interns
Dylan Bristol-Hamilton writes “I suppose the reason I am here Is because I felt something pulling me to do this, so I can’t wait to see why.  I’m looking forward to hanging out and talking with everyone, can’t wait to go backpacking so hopefully a lot of you will join us. We should have a lot of fun this summer and I hope I’ll get
to some of you a bit better. If anyone ever needs anything do not hesitate to ask I’m here to listen and help in any way I can” Hailey O’Daniel writes “I am looking forward to building deeper and more meaningful relationships with each of you! I hope that I can be a mentor to you now and in the future. I also want to point each of you back to Jesus in every way possible! If any of you ever need to talk about anything then please let me know!”   Katelyn Goist writes “I am looking forward to getting to you each of you better! I am excited to camp with all of you at Pine Springs! I hope to see each of you there. If there is ever anything that you need to talk about, please know that I am here for you! “
We have started working for Camp and Encounter, we have already put in some hours last week and everyone pitched in and helped that wanted a scholarship.  When we return from Encounter we will start working again on Tuesday, June 19 from 10 a.m. to noon.  We will be making flour bombs so please be there that date we can use everyone that needs to work.  We will also be working at VBS, or Kids Camp, the week before camp so you can get another 6 hours by volunteering for our children’s ministry.  Remember you need to work at least 10 hours for each camp you attend this summer if you want a scholarship.

Again, I need to make sure the teens have all their paper work for Encounter done this week.  I will be out of town all week at Juntos, so we need to make sure everyone is ready to go on Sunday morning at 6 a.m. This means that they need their medical release forms that are provided by LCU filled out which include a wallet size photo.  This would really help us the day we depart.  You can make copies of your insurance card at the office if needed.  Some of you paid on line and you should have gotten that information via email.   So, I just want to make sure everyone is prepared.  Second, if your student needs to work for a scholarship please be sure to have them here on Tuesday, June 19, we will have plenty for them to do.  It will be a great summer thanks for your support!  David
