The Churches of Christ are part of the Restoration Movement, a movement attempting to restore Christianity back to what God intended it to be. Text Box: What we Believe
Text Box: We base all of our beliefs and practices on the Bible. We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, infallible and the final authority for all Christians. It teaches that there’s one God who created us and longs to have a relationship with us. Our own failures and mistakes, which the Bible calls sin, makes it impossible for us to have that relationship with God (Romans 6:23, 3:23). Help came in the form of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whose death on the cross was a substitution for the death we earned with our own sins (John 3:16, 14;6). The result of that act is salvation. So, salvation comes not through anything that we can do, but by grace which is freely given to us. We respond to that gift by believing the Bible’s testimony of God and Jesus (faith) deciding to live a life guided by the word and Spirit of God (the Bible calls this decision repentance) and being immersed in water (an act the Bible calls baptism) Acts 2:38.
